ABOUT US

We are The District 4 Coalition of Neighborhoods (D4C)

The District 4 Coalition of Neighborhood Associations (D4C) is a group of Neighborhood Associations and Homeowner’s Associations within the boundaries of City Council District 4. We work together to represent the interests of our areas, establish a positive relationship with local government officials and increase interactions among residents. Our City Councilor attends many of our monthly meetings, and we are able to provide information on issues that affect our neighborhoods. In turn, our Councilor keeps D4C aware of what is happening with various issues around the City that are of concern to our members. D4C provides information and education on relevant issues by inviting guest speakers to attend our meetings.

Benefits of being a Member of D4C

At D4C’s monthly meetings, representatives of each of the member neighborhoods can share information regarding happenings in their neighborhoods. Members are kept apprised of City programs and activities that can improve the quality of life in their neighborhoods. Additionally, guest speakers from government agencies, legislative positions, and local commerce provide relevant information on a variety of subjects that members can take with them and apply in service to their communities. As a member of D4C you are able to ask questions and participate in these conversations.

The backing of a Coalition creates an organized voice for City government. There is power in bringing people together and a Coalition serves as a larger and unified voice to bring attention to issues that may impact many people. We have meetings on the third Wednesday of each month (except July and December) with guest speakers on different issues or updates (law enforcement, Parks and Recreation, State Legislatures, etc.)
Any member association may bring up an issue of concern to their area. Other associations may have had experience with the same or similar issues and can offer advice on possible next steps or provide names of people who may be contacted for assistance. The cumulative history and experience within the group is invaluable in providing assistance with neighborhood concerns.
